What is the QuickBooks Business Network?
The QuickBooks Business Network is an Intuit feature that lets two QuickBooks users connect their companies. Once connected:
- Your company name and mailing address are automatically matched
- Invoices sent by one company appear directly in the other’s QuickBooks as a bill, which streamlines accounts payable
Why you might receive a connection request
- Vendor automation. A supplier using QuickBooks wants to send invoices to you automatically rather than by email or paper.
- Shared information. By connecting, your contact details (name, address) are shared with the requesting company for invoice delivery.
- Multiple invitations. You may receive requests from several vendors. That is normal if they also use QuickBooks.
Is it safe?
Yes. Connection requests come from Intuit’s secure notification system, at addresses like quickbooks@notification.intuit.com.
- No access to your books. Accepting does not give the vendor any ability to view your financial data. It only automates invoice delivery.
- Verify if unsure. If you do not know who initiated the request, check with the vendor’s finance or accounts payable team before accepting.
- Suspicious requests. If the request comes from a vendor you do not recognise, or from an odd email address, do not click any link. Nothing happens if you simply ignore it.
What to do when you receive a request
- Review the sender. Confirm the email is from Intuit (
@notification.intuit.com). - Confirm with the vendor. Reach out to their accounts payable or finance contact to verify they meant to send it.
- Decide on automation.
- Automate: if you use QuickBooks bill pay and want invoices delivered directly, click Accept in the notification.
- Decline or ignore: if you prefer manual entry for oversight, ignore the request. Nothing else is required.
- Expect more. You may receive additional invitations from other QuickBooks users. Handle each the same way.
Common questions
Will connecting let the vendor see my financial reports? No. The connection only automates sending invoices into your QuickBooks as bills.
What if I accidentally accept a request I did not want? You can disconnect through the QuickBooks Business Network settings under Apps, or by contacting Intuit support.
I never signed up for the Business Network. How did this happen? Any QuickBooks user can send a connection request to another by matching company name and address. It does not require you to enrol separately.
